It’s the 21st edition of the FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship.

Held in the Philippines, in two cities: Pasay and Quezon City.

Qualification

Qualification period was from 3 August 2022 to 30 August 2024.

Two spots were automatic: one for the host (Philippines) and one for the defending champion (Italy).

15 spots were allocated via the Continental Championships in 2023 (top 3 from each continental championship).

Remaining spots (15) were awarded based on the FIVB World Ranking at August 2024 among teams not qualified yet.
Format

Preliminary (Pool) Phase: 32 teams split into 8 pools (A through H), each pool has 4 teams. Top two from each pool advance.

Elimination Phase: Round of 16, then quarterfinals, semifinals, and final. Single elimination matches.

At the end of pool play, 16 teams advanced: top two of each pool. Some notable teams making it through include Poland, USA, Türkiye, Canada, Bulgaria, Netherlands, etc.

One historic result: Türkiye reached the quarterfinals of this World Championship for the first time, after defeating the Netherlands in the Round of 16.
